CES | Las Vegas
Every January, some of the world’s most innovative business leaders, tech experts, social influencers, and well-known personalities descend upon the bright lights of Las Vegas for the annual global consumer electronics and consumer technology tradeshow, CES. This year, Turner Sports presented the event’s Sports Business Innovation series and tapped SpringHill Entertainment and UNINTERRUPTED CEO Maverick Carter to host its athlete panel on “Life off the Court.”
Featuring stories and experiences from NBA All Stars Chris Bosh and Draymond Green and MLB World Series Champion Dexter Fowler, Carter led the insightful conversation about how athletes can build their brands off the court. Surrounded by talent and years of expertise, Fowler may have summed up the panel and the event best when he said, “When you’re in a room with powerful people, you want to learn how they got to be powerful.”
As the CEO of two rapidly growing companies in SpringHill Entertainment and UNINTERRRUPTED, that is often the advice Carter gives to young entrepreneurs and in this case, young athletes: when you’re in the company of successful people, ask a ton of questions to gain knowledge and insight from their experiences. The panel at CES was a snapshot of that guiding philosophy.
